Prof. Dr. Fatma Deniz Evcik was born in Ankara in 1966. She completed her primary, secondary, and high school education at TED Ankara College. She entered the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara University in 1984 and graduated in 1990. She completed her compulsory service for one year at Zile-Tokat Health Vocational School. Between 1991 and 1996, she completed her residency in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Ankara University, School of Medicine. After her residency, she worked at a private physical therapy center and Dr. Muhittin Ülker Traffic Hospital as a specialist. In 1999, she began working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Afyon Kocatepe University, School of Medicine. She became an Associate Professor at the same university in 2003 and received the title of Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Ufuk University, School of Medicine  in 2008. She obtained a subspecialty in Algology in 2011. She worked as a Professor in the Therapy and Rehabilitation Department at Ankara University, Haymana Vocational School in 2010, and retired in 2014. From 2014 to 2024, she continued her work at Ankara Güven Hospital.

Throughout her career, she held various positions, including faculty board member and  head of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Afyon Kocatepe University, School of Medicine.  At Ufuk University, School of Medicine she worked as a faculty member and  the head of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Additionally she was the  director of the Health and Vocational School at Ufuk University. Besides being the head of the Therapy and Rehabilitation Department at Haymana Vocational School at Ankara University she worked as the director of same  Vocational School till her retirement. At Ankara  Güven Hospital, she worked as the director of  the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department.

In addition to her academic process, she has been a member of national and international professional organizations. From 2006 to 2013, she served as an executive board member of  Turkish League Against  Rheumatism. From 2013 to 2019, she held the positions of general secretary and executive board member of the Turkish Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Between 2006 and 2013, she was  the editor of the Turkish Journal of Rheumatology, and between 2015 and 2024, she held the role of editor for the Turkish Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. During this period, she contributed to the journals’ acceptance into international databases such as the Science Citation Index Expanded and PubMed Central.

Her CV includes numerous national and international academic publications, presentations, book chapters, national and international academic lectures, courses, and editorial roles. She is married and has two children.
